ZEONEX is extremely pure. Residual metals content is less than 0.02ppm.
The ability to visually check the level and quality of drugs during injection/dispensing can be critical. ZEONEX’s 92% high transparency allows for easy inspection of the drug.
ZEONEX has a higher level of transparency than conventional medical plastics, which can tend to be hazy.
Mechanical properties of devices made from ZEONEX have no significant change after steam, ethylene oxide or gamma sterilization.

ZEONEX’s extremely low water absorption allows drugs to be stored for longer periods of time as compared to other medical plastics.
ZEONEX is ideal for drugs where there is risk of breakage during transit or during use. This includes replacement of glass syringes and vials. Additionally, medical packaging made from ZEONEX can survive being dropped whereas other plastics (including COC) are prone to cracking.
ZEONEX is optimal for protein and peptide-based drugs where there are concerns about adsorption with glass and lyophilized drugs where there is a concern regarding pH shift of the diluent. As compared to polypropylene (PP), ZEONEX has significantly less protein adsorption.
ZEONEX can be molded for pre-filled syringes and pen injector cartridges ranging from <10ml to 100ml in size. And, for vials and bottles, ZEONEX can be molded in sizes from a few ml to >250ml.
The toughness of ZEONEX allows for larger, more integrated molding than with COC plastics.
